ArtBridge/U of U College of Fine Arts |
ArtsBridge America is a 10-state network of 19 public
universities and their surrounding schools that confronts
the problem of the elimination of the arts from K-12
schools. ArtsBridge works to create partnerships between
universities and public school, using college students in
the arts to keep arts education in K-12 education. The
University of Utah has had an active ArtsBridge program
since 2001.

Community Action Partnership of Utah |
Our advocacy focuses on low-income housing, work support and
asset building. Our biggest internal effort to fight poverty
comes from our support of the Volunteer Income Tax
Assistance (VITA) Program.We also publish poverty data in
the form of an annual report on poverty in Utah.
Additionally we provide a poverty simulation as a way to
help people understand the realities of poverty.

Communities United
Comunidades Unidas |
To date, we have provided assistance to and support for over
100,000 members of the immigrant and refugee community.
Through a variety of programs focusing on both community
well being and community organizing, we work with a daily
average of 150 individuals to become healthy, self-reliant,
and participatory members of society.
We have also created three statewide networks that address
issues facing immigrants and refugees by working with a
broad base of over 200 organizations and individuals in the
larger community. These coalitions have been an integral
part of effecting changes to both policies and social norms
that help to ease the process of adjustment and integration.

Educates the LGBT

Great West
specializes in the research and development of experimental
programs and pilot projects focused around imagination,

Humanities in Focus |
Humanities in Focus (HIF) gives 20 diverse individuals
representing a variety of ethnicities the opportunity to
discover and articulate their own voices through creative
writing and documentary film production. Serving a populace
that has been previously excluded from college humanities
education and expression, HIF is a carefully designed course
that includes college-level writing and documentary-making
classes to deepen the understanding of the human condition.
As part of the course, HIF provides participants with
transportation, bus and TRAX passes, meals, childcare &
facilities, college tuition and textbooks to maximize the
educational experience.

Using the Ready To Learn Workshops, KUED
teaches adults to regularly use and enhance the value of PBS
children’s television and online content directly with
children ages 0-8, particularly those who may be at risk of
educational failure due to poverty, limited English

Founded in
2006, the Mundi Project’s mission is to provide youth access
to pianos and innovative performance opportunities that
incorporate all the arts. The Mundi Project’s focus is on
but not limited to the piano. We are unique in the Salt Lake
area, both in the services we provides and in our strong
commitment to multi-disciplinary arts outreach through
concerts and workshops. The Mundi Project operates the Piano
Bank and Piano Ambassadors programs.

The council serves to represent the community interests of
the Poplar Grove neighborhood in Salt Lake City, Utah. The
Poplar Grove boundaries include all residents and businesses
residing west of Interstate 15, between North Temple
Boulevard and 900 South, in Salt Lake City Utah. Poplar
Grove Community Council will host CERT Training and HAM
radio classes at the Unity Center.
